Memories

2001, 9th month 11th day,
as folks were headed working way

And children had just started school,
in air so fresh and mildly cool,

Time, eight four six struck Big -Ben,
history wrote a chapter then

Small world of hate began a fight,
as ugly fate of happy flight.

They flew the planes in buildings tall,
and smiled a tad watching them fall,

Huge balls of fire flew in the sky,
the earth so wept and nature cry.

High buildings came down crashing low,
took all with them in depths below,

Heroes aboard flight ninety three,
rewrote their final destiny,

They drove the plane to grounds below,
and made Shanksvile their ground zero.

And then so quickly emerged a phase,
as all stood by in true amaze,

In seconds then without a fear,
came pouring help from far and near.

From black, brown, white came every kind,
all threats and fears were left behind,

There was one God there was one aim,
to save as many from burning flame,

And thus we lost more lives in love,
bringing tears to skies above,

Right then there was a nation strong,
not seen in times ever so long,

One nation under God we saw,
brought blissful help from every draw,

And so are memories of that day,
for all loved ones that went away.

In world of peace and full of love;
to share with us from heaven above,

We light this candle as we pray,
for all loved ones in ground we lay,

You live in every heart that beats,
so long my love until we meet.

We light this candle to show also,
your memories light a great big glow.

We see you in the stars at night
with message of love from heavenly light.
